NACE Event, September 5

~(you DON’T wanna miss this) ~

Friends of The Carson Leslie Foundation,

Over the last 6 months I have had the pleasure of serving as as Director of Fundraising for the National Association of Catering and Events (NACE), an association focused on event professionals personal and business growth. Every year we host an annual fundraiser – a Table Top Competition between industry peers, 2012 is proving to be a record year of 24 participants!

This year we have selected the Carson Leslie Foundation as our beneficiary, Carson a courageous young man lost his life to medulloblastoma. Carson was a fighter, a visionary and made the decision with the support of his family to donate his brain to science research so the world could have the opportunity to learn why chemotherapy did not stop the growth of the tumors. The foundation was formed in 2010 and has already made great strides in regards to teaming up with the Cancer Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT)along with the signing into law the Creating Hope Act of 2012!

I invite you to help NACE and Carson Leslie Foundation to continue their mission by either attending the event on September 5, 2012 at the Westin Park Central or by making a financial contribution!

Friends of The Carson Leslie Foundation…

Carson lived a life of courage, honor and fullness in every sense of the word. Through his battle with cancer he had an incredible impact on his friends, school, church and community.

One of The BECK Group’s fundraising efforts are to honor Carson and his family, with proceeds going to the Carson Leslie Foundation. The Foundation is dedicated to raising funds for research leading to a cure from pediatric cancer and enriching the lives of pediatric cancer patients. Carson was the son of Craig Leslie, who is a valuable part of The BECK Group’s family. We hope you will join us!

I had the privilege to call Carson my friend and learned so much from him as he journeyed through this trial. He was truly an inspiration to all who encountered him. Carson would often say “I am not strong or courageous by myself. I just happened to be the kid that got cancer. And the way I look at it, I can either go around mad and sad, or go around living with the strength and courage that comes from God and from the people He puts around me.” It is with Carson’s heart and determination in mind that I am looking to complete this race and hope you will join with me as I look to raise funds for other who want to cure pediatric cancer.
