HOOT & HOLLER

February | Annual Benefit Concert

DPR Construction’s Hoot & Holler is an annual benefit concert born from the shared experiences of families within the Dallas construction industry.

The event honors the memories of Carson Leslie, Kyle Murray, and Sawyer Davidson — three bright and courageous boys who each battled Medulloblastoma.

Hosted by DPR Construction, this high-energy event transforms a “good time” into meaningful impact. Proceeds directly benefit:

  • Carson Leslie Foundation research initiatives

  • The Women’s Auxiliary to Children’s Medical Center Dallas

Through music, community, and purpose, Hoot & Holler ensures that the fight against pediatric brain cancer remains a collective priority.

CREATE YOUR OWN EVENT

Carry Carson’s Torch. Start Something That Matters.

Step 1: Choose Your “Moxie” Method

Pick the event you want to do and email us to let us know your plan.

    • The Milestone:
      • Donate your birthday, anniversary on your social media channels. This can be in honor of a loved one with proceeds coming back to CLF.
    • Personal/Community Events:
      • Host a “Gold Out” night at a local high school sports game
      • Fishing or Golf tournament
      • Host a 5K run/walk, Dance-A-Thon, Bike ride
      • Home run derby fundraiser, or Pickleball, Cornhole, Mahjong, etc. Tournament
      • Fashion show
      • Pancake breakfast or bake sale
    • The Corporate/Group Challenge:
      • Get your office to match donations for one week.
      • “Loose Change for a Change” – Collect loose change at school, youth groups, work, etc. and donate what you collect back to the foundation.
      • Do Your Own Thing: Have your own idea for an event? Send it our way to approve and get to fundraising.

Step 2: Use Our “Fast Facts” (Your Talking Points)

    • The Problem: Brain cancer is the #1 killer of children in the US.
    • The Solution: CLF funds the researchers directly to help find a cure for medulloblastoma.
    • The Impact: 85 cents of every dollar raised goes directly to our three pillars: Research, Encouragement, and Advocacy.

Step 3: Market Your Event

    • Send an email, post on social media, and/or send a text to get the word out.
    • Make sure to include the date, time, purpose of the event, and how to donate to the cause. You can decide if you are going to collect all the donations directly then make one donation back to the foundation, or if you just have people donate directly to CLF to participate and show you their donation confirmation.
    • Example SM post:
      • “I’m raising money for @CarsonLeslieFoundation because no child or teen should have to fight brain cancer alone. Join me in funding the cure. So join me (add details here and you can also link to https://carsonlesliefoundation.org/)
    • Additional Assets: Once your event is approved, we will send you a link to a shared folder containing CLF logos and a sheet with the mission, vision, and pillar descriptions of the foundation.

Step 4: Run your event

    • Have fun at or running your event.
    • Don’t forget to take photos/videos and tag us on social media (FB: Carson Leslie Foundation, IG: @carrrymecarson) as well as send photos to hello@carsonlesliefoundation.org so we can use them on our social media platforms and newsletter.

Step 5: Donate back to CLF

    • Submit your proceeds back to the Carson Leslie Foundation.
      • Mail a check
      • Donate your proceeds through our donation button on our website
