Late November 2019, Texas voters overwhelmingly approved an additional $3billion in state-backed bond funds to expand CPRIT’s research initiative and extend the program for an additional ten years. The Carson Leslie Foundation has had a STRONG relationship with CPRIT. Invited to serve on CPRIT’s Advisory Council for Childhood Cancer a few months after Carson’s death, Annette has worked tirelessly and celebrates CPRIT’s decision to make childhood cancer a Top Priority at CPRIT with an increased investment into childhood cancer research, from barely 3% in 2010 to now a solid 12%!
CPRIT is the 2nd largest funder of cancer research outside the Federal government.
CPRIT named their conference room, The Carson Leslie Conference Room.
“Annette Leslie was invited to join CPRIT’s Advisory Council on Childhood Cancers. Through her advocacy, CPRIT has expanded its role in pediatric cancer, including a $3.2 million program to fund research directed at less toxic treatments for childhood brain cancer.”
