  • 12% of CPRIT’s portfolio is invested in childhood cancer research
  • CPRIT launched Carson Leslie Awards for Pediatric Brain Cancers
  • Carson Leslie Awards resulted in a $3.2M research collaboration between CPRIT and CLF
  • CPRIT’s headquarters in Austin, Texas named their conference room: The Carson Leslie Conference Room
  • CPRIT is the 2nd largest funder of cancer research outside US government

In 2019, Annette and CLF’s Trustees, Chairman Gerry McDougall and Director Walter Capone met with CPRIT’s Executive leadership to explore ideas how to further advance childhood cancer opportunities within CPRIT.

In 2020 CPRIT and CLF launched Researchers RoundUp

  • Gathered Texas’ brightest childhood cancer investigators
  • Discussed — Identified — Encouraged COLLABORATION
  • Outcomes helped frame CPRIT’s Childhood Cancer RFA’s
  • Actively building a Childhood cancer Collation across Texas
  • Looking to launch Childhood cancer clinical trials network
